Shelby Kittinger, born in Buffalo, NY, earned her bachelors degree in Sculpture with a minor in Art History from SUNY Fredonia. She currently works as a traveling artist, bringing the joy of painting and art history to retirement homes, fostering an environment where creativity knows no age boundaries.
She has worked with Locust Street Art, has had her illustration work published in two separate children’s books and has experience as a docent at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. Inspired by the conceptual symbolism of surrealism, literature, empathy and sociopolitical events, she creates multimedia paintings that break the canvas.
“In these artworks, I bring the viewer into contemplation of our turbulent world and the actions we can take to achieve a better one.”
